Torture on Trial in Tucson
A few images from the October 17 trial of Fr. Louis Vitale and Fr. Steve Kelly:
Gathering in front of the U.S. District Courthouse in Tucson on the morning of the trial were (left to right) peace and justice activist Kathy Kelly, Fr. Louie, human rights attorney Bill Quigley, Peter Ediger of Pace e Bene Las Vegas, former prisoner of conscience Fr. Jerry Zawada, and two members of Pax Christi Phoenix.

Check out these images showing some of our past activities. Working for peace is fun!
On September 21st we carried the message in San Mateo Central Park and downtown that "We the People Declare Peace."
We lift the banner...............................We carry the message..........................We remember the dead.
The Grannies sing for peace..................................................and create the dove of peace.
We march...........................................................and honk......................................................................
and speak.........................................and play.......................................................................................
the youth and the elders, all gathered as one people, we the people, declaring peace!
At the workshop "Creating Nonviolent Actions for Peace," we learned tools for becoming peacemakers in our communities.
When the President vetoed, on May 1st, the bill with a timeline for withdrawing US forces from Iraq, we organized a Veto Vigil the next day. With the help of MoveOn Political Action, San Mateo Peace Action, and Pax Christi Burlingame, we brought together a diverse group with great signs and noisemakers! Check out these pix.
The March 16 vigil and march, with the theme "We Choose Peace," drew more than 120 participants to Central Park and downtown San Mateo. Can you find yourself or your friends or neighbors in these photos?
Our "Fasting for Peace on Thursdays" witness continues in summer's sunshine...
...and winter's shadow...
...complete with t-shirts (for sunshine only!).
We remind holiday shoppers about the message of the season...
...and we have Fr. Louie's help to keep the focus on peace in an anti-war demonstration.
